Chamath Wickramaarachchi is a finance and economics professional with a strong background in investment research, capital markets, and financial analysis. He currently serves as Manager – Research at Asha Securities Limited, a member of the Colombo Stock Exchange, where he leads comprehensive investment research initiatives. His work spans in-depth analysis of CSE-listed entities, macroeconomic and industry sector research, equity valuation, and financial performance reviews, helping clients navigate complex financial landscapes and make informed investment decisions. He joined Asha Securities in 2018, progressing from Research Analyst (2020–2024) to his current role.

Alongside his industry work, Chamath is an active lecturer. He teaches at the Colombo Stock Exchange Education Academy, where he is a subject lecturer for the Certificate in Financial Statement Analysis, and at Ceylon Exchange Mentoring, where he delivers a practical-focused program on investing in capital markets.

Chamath holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance (First Class) from the University of Plymouth, UK, and an MBA (Merit Pass) from NSBM Green University, specializing in Capital Markets, Financial Economics, Macroeconomics, and Behavioral Finance. He completed a Master’s in Financial Economics at the University of Colombo.

He is also an Associate Member of the CFA Institute and holds CFA Level 1, alongside certifications in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals, and Bloomberg Market Concepts.

Beyond finance, Chamath has a long-standing commitment to community service, having served as a Scout Leader with the World Scout Foundation and in leadership roles during his school years at D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo.
